A limited partnership (Dutch: commanditaire vennootschap (C.V.)) is a partnership that is entered into by one or more persons that are severally liable for the commitments of the partnership and one or more persons as financial backers.

The name of the financial backers is not allowed to be mentioned in the name of the partnership and they are not allowed, not even by power of attorney, to perform deeds of management or to engage in the business of the partnership.
